Cool Collages from Your Photos

When I created the Canvas project a few months ago, many of you were wondering if a future release would exist where users could upload their own photos. Well, you’re in luck! Collage does just that.

Here are a couple of collages made with the site:

    Hey Adam! I think we met at Theta Xi (capture the flag?). Anyway, thanks for the blog comment. Always nice to meet a fellow composer.

    Your site design isn’t bad either.

  2. adam Says:

    @Yan – Indeed we did. That was a fun night.
    You compose, too … anywhere I can hear some of your music?

    [...] a photo and Collage, the creation of MIT undergrad Adam Schwartz, will analyze and pixelate it then replace the pixels with images from flickr.com’s API service that are close in color. The program only works in Firefox. [...]

    Hi Adam,

    Collage is amazing! Did you write this software on your own. I run a small photo print studio where we print photos on canvas and we havnt used something like this but it could be very popular. Have you ever considered licensing! Great going!!

    @Phil
    I did write the software on my own. However, the software relies on flickr’s photo database, so I’d have to look into how the flickr API license works. It may be possible though. For right now, I’m mostly interested in seeing people use it, and learning how I can improve it based on user feedback. There’s still a lot to do. But thanks so much for your comments!

    This is really cool! If you have ever seen the UK talk show called Parkinson, the host of the show (Michael Parkinson) has a collage at the start of the show which looks like his face from far away but up close is actually pictures of all the people he has interviewed. He also has a bit twitter following.
